Cavs regaining upper hand in East

The Cavs are playing very well right now.  Actually, it seems more accurate to say LeBron James is playing well right now.  An even more accurate statement would be that LeBron James is playing out of his mind.  This is not to say the Cavs as a whole have been playing at the top of their collective game, because they have.  But LeBron James is improving by leaps and bounds, which is simply incredible.  This is, of course, a good sign for the Cavs.

After beating Boston again last night the Cavs have put themselves in the position of being the team to beat in the East.  I say this partly because they are the defending Eastern Conference Champs, thus they have won when it counts.  And most importantly, they have shown they can beat Boston already this year and they did beat Detroit in the Conference Finals last year.  Seeing as how Boston and Detroit are the only other legitimate teams in the East there is no reason not to see the Cavs as the current favorite.  Obviously circumstances are subject to change as the year moves along and the playoffs begin to take their course:  sometimes for the worst, sometimes for the better, sometimes not at all.

It is no secret the Cavs success is directly related to the play of LeBron James.  Therefore, the collective organization of Cavs fans, players, owners, etc. cannot deny the auspicious figure that is LeBron James, who in turn forms almost all that is the Cavs.  All that said, he still needs some more help.  Even if that doesn’t happen this year there seems to an air of ambition surrounding the Cavs that has them playing at the top of their game at this point in the season.

It has become hard to write, watch, talk about, or imagine the games that have occurred and the games yet to be played without ranting about what LeBron James has done or what he will do next.  I want to include other aspects of why the Cavs are playing well but the staggering play of LeBron James has become too palpable to deny at times.  That said, nice sticky fingers last night Boobie Gibson.  That about sums things up, I think.
