Browns show growth in an ugly win

Browns show growth in ugly win

By

Mental lapses, penalties, a player taking his helmet off after a great play.  All of the afore mentioned problems sound perfectly familiar to Browns fans.  The Browns have lost games in every way imaginable in years past.  All of the mistakes that were made against the Rams this past Sunday have been lingering problems for the Browns since their return to the NFL.

The mistakes, along with the fact that Braylon Edwards sparked a not so fond memory of another incident involving a Browns player removing his helmet after a play, could only lead to one thing...  A win for the Browns?  Yes folks, it is indeed true that the Browns managed to beat the Rams 27-20 despite the massive amount of mistakes they made throughout the game.

What does this say about this year's team?  The Browns showed the resiliency so often spoken about when good teams pull out "ugly" victories.  The Browns have won games in a number of ways thus far this season.  This is the sign of a team growing up right before our eyes, and it is sweet!  Although the defense has a lot of holes, due largely to how young they are, they have managed to make plays in crucial situations.  They did just that against the Rams, stopping them on fourth down three times, holding them to six points after the first quarter, and coming up with an interception to seal the game.  The offense is very good all around, and they are getting more consistent as the season goes on.  There is not much for fan to do except sit back and watch the growth of a good team getting better each week.

Hopefully the Browns worked out all of the problems that were happening against the Rams, as this Sunday's game against Seattle should be much tougher.  I fully expect the team to come out focused and keep the winning streak - which they have sought after since it last occurred in 2003 - intact with a victory over Seattle...  It feels damn good to have unwavering confidence in the Browns and their potential to beat anybody they face.
