Browns must capitalize on favorable two game stretchThe Browns were once again unable to string together consecutive wins after becoming the Patriots' most recent victims this past Sunday. Untimely turnovers from Derek Anderson weighed heavily on the outcome of the game. Despite the turnovers, which put the Browns in an early hole, there were still chances for the Browns to get back into the game. The defense played well enough to win by forcing three-and-outs when they needed to and holding the Patriots scoreless in the third quarter. With a young defense seemingly ready to continue its growth and improvement throughout this season, to go along with an offense that has proven to be explosive, the tools for winning are in place. So when are the Browns going to be able to string together consecutive victories? The next two games for the Browns are against the Dolphins and the Rams, both of whom are winless thus far. There is seemingly no better time to win two in a row and get to 4-3 for the season. The offense should be able to put up huge numbers against the Dolphins and the Rams. The defense should also be able to grow and gain confidence against teams who are starting back-up quarterbacks. There is truly nothing better to help out the growth process of a young team than facing two struggling teams with injured quarterbacks. The defense is going to have to focus heavily on the run this week against the Dolphins and force quarterback Cleo Lemon (yes Cleo Lemon is an actual quarterback in the NFL) to make throws. Ronnie Brown is the one bright spot on the Dolphins offense which makes it that much more important to stop him from running the ball well. On the other side of the ball the offensive line will need to keep playing as well as they have thus far in order to contain Jason Taylor. It does not seem as though it would be too hard to contain two players, although they are two very good players, but doing so will have a heavy impact on the outcome of the game. Browns fans can only hope to see a healthy Jamal Lewis ready to play and a consistent Derek Anderson for two games in a row. Having a bye week between the next two games can only help the team as a whole. All things considered, look for the Browns to be 4-3 heading into November.

It's unfortunate the Browns could not bounce back after the early turnovers in last weeks game. They did, however, provide New England with one of their toughest games on offense so that was good to see in our defense. Let's hope we rally and get those consecutive wins with the next two games. I'm predicting 10-6 on the season...Woof Woof!
Good stuff yesterday. The defence could use a little more teeth, but hey, we got the first of the "must wins" and now we get a week to mend our injured and build on a solid first 6 games. People are starting to talk about 10-6 as if it's a real possibility, which is kind of scary, but exciting! Let's hope we're not just setting ourselves up for disappointment. For now, let's just enjoy the week off by watching the Tribe finish off the Sox!
