Things always work out for Pittsburgh, including the drafting of Santonio Holmes - a former Buckeye. Browns fans are forced to sit and watch. Braylon Edwards Super Bowl MVP 2010?
I loathe the Pittsburgh Steelers. So I guess it's no big secret who I was pulling for in the Super Bowl. And of course, they emerged victorious Sunday night. But everything always seems to work out for them. Penalties on the other team, ball bouncing the right way, just enough time to get the ball off, etc.
Then there's the MVP: Santonio Holmes. Him winning was not an upside for me. I wrote off Holmes the minute he was drafted by Pittsburgh. Despite my Buckeye allegiance, I was never a big Santonio fan. He always struck me as a guy who was playing for that future paycheck, and he backed up my sentiments when he left school early because he "had mouths to feed". Now he's a salary employee of the Steelers. And what's up with his touchdown celebration impersonating LeBron James? Let's leave that to the King. Furthermore when did using the ball in your celebration not lead to a 15-yard penalty? Didn't someone just mention something about things magically working out for the Steelers quite a bit?
Regardless this Super Bowl was the culmination of what the 2008 NFL season was for every Browns fan: A huge disappointment out of our beloved Browns, and an obnoxiously successful campaign for our arch rivals.
But while Kurt Warner couldn't lead the Cardinals to the Super Bowl victory for us, hey, at least he did lead my fantasy football team to a second place finish in my league. I guess in the end, he came up short for me twice this year.
