The "Real" Top 25, week 12Well, that is the last time I am putting faith in a Big 10 team, but I can't say how happy I am that Mizzou is still alive and Ohio State won't be in the big game again (although I enjoy watching them get smoked by the SEC). The need for a playoff has reached its peak, but there might not be much argument, although there should be. Thoe on upset alert this week are Oklahoma (@ Texas Tech) and Mizzou (@ Kansas State). Also, sorry for the big delay, its been my first week as a full-time sports reporter. 1. LSU 9-1 (2): The Tigers are now on top of the perch with three games remaining. They better hope that Tennessee wins out because they don't want to have to play Georgia in the SEC Championship, who may be playing the best. 2. Kansas 10-0 (5): There is no way that this team shouldn't be playing in the championship game as of now. Sure, it still hasn't beaten a top 25 team, but it has had only two close games and won at Colorado, which Oklahoma didn't do. 3. Oklahoma 9-1 (4): Still three games to go before the Sooners can stake claim to a championship complaint. 4. Missouri 9-1 (7): Everyone is giving the Tigers the win over Kansas State. Hopefully the Tigers won't think the same. 5. West Virginia 7-1 (6): The Mountaineers are right back in the thick of the title race, but that might only last one day before playing Cinci. 6. Georgia 8-2 (8): This team is hot and is reminding me a lot of last year's LSU team. 7. Ohio State 10-1 (1): Just another Big 10 team that struggles with speed and the spread offense. 8. Arizona State 9-1 (9): All of the sudden the Sun Devils are in control of their own destiny to go to the Rose Bowl. 9. Oregon 8-2 (3): I thought that the Ducks could lose one of their last three games, and without Dixon, it was probable. 10. Texas 9-2 (12): The Horns continue to outscore opponents, although they haven't look all that good. 11. Virginia Tech 8-2 (13): Hokie Hokie high is just chugging along after a nice fourth quarter against FSU. 12. USC 8-2 (15): The Men of Troy are climbing their way back up the poles as they are starting to click with Booty. 13. Clemson 8-2 (22): Every time I think the Tigers are the real deal, they lay an egg. Must be a good sign for BC. 14. Florida 7-3 (17): It looks like Florida will finish 9-3, not bad with the tough opponents it played. 15. Hawaii 9-0 (19): Hopefully moving the Warriors up this far will lead them to lose tonight. 16. Boston College 8-2 (10): Back to back losses and a trip to Clemson has the Eagles in big trouble. 17. Tennessee 7-3 (21): The Vols shut down McFadden, now its two rivalry games before a possible trip to Atlanta. 18. Virginia 8-2 (23): Finally an impressive performance for the Cavs, and boy was it ever. 19. Michigan 8-3 (11): The Wolverienes better hope that the starting seniors are coming back for OSU. 20. Illinois 8-3 (-): Everyone has jumped on the Illinois bandwagon, I just can't wait for the wagon to break again. 21. Bosie State 9-1 (24): The big game with Hawaii looms for the Broncos. 22. Cincinnati 8-2 (-): This team can still play some football, despite the two tough setbacks. 23. Auburn 7-4 (16): The tough schedule and a rough start has caught up to a solid Tigers team. 24. Kentucky 7-3 (25): All of its success and the same record as last year looms unless it can beat UGA or UT. 25. UCONN 8-2 (14): A very disappointing blowout loss to the Bearcats.

Kansas #2 is a joke. They haven't beaten anyone yet and have one of the easiest rated schedules in the country. Don't put them #2 just because teams above them have lost - that doesn't mean Kansas is any better!
