Hello valued ColumbusSports.com readers! The one and only Mister Brian White has granted me clearance to spew my drivel via this wonderful website. Who am I? Well my name is Mike Crosky, I was born and raised here in the Bus. I am 25 years old and attend Columbus State where I am majoring in Sports Management. Naturally I love to play and view sports of all types, shapes and sizes. I listen to XM Satellite Radio way too much and I consider Larry David to be almost God like, thus Curb your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld are literally all I watch outside of sporting events. I also like puppies and long walks along the bea….. No I’m kidding!! Enough of that inane babble. Lets talk sports, shall we??

I am from Columbus but none of my favorite teams are actually based here, outside of the Arena Football League Destroyers. Unfortunately though, we have to wonder if that even counts anymore, considering our indoor pigskin playing boys are on a year long sabbatical. Lets keep our fingers crossed that it doesn’t become a permanent one. I am however a Columbus Crew season ticket holder. I excitedly root for them unless they are competing against my favorite MLS team, the New York Red Bulls. Needless to say the MLS Cup was a bit of a bummer for me. I couldn't even be proud the banana kits finally won the championship, be it that my Red Bulls were the whipping boys. Oh well good for the Crew, the franchise needed the lift.

My Favorite Sports Teams (in order):

Buffalo Bills (Yes it’s sad, but there is no need to laugh at me. Lets Go T.O.)

Colorado Avalanche (We even made the Jackets finally look good this season)

Denver Nuggets (Can the Thuggets get passed the first round finally???)

USA Men's National Soccer Team (Take that 2-0 score line back down south of the border Mexico)

New York Red Bulls (The Metropolitan Energy Drinks)

Colorado Rockies (Reds vs. Rox= The Battle of Who Could Care Less)

Columbus Destroyers (Currently on a cruise ship in the Caribbean leading a conga line)

I know you may be scratching your head as to how the hell I became a fan of all these sporadically placed teams? Having lived 98% of my life here in the capital city, it would only make sense that I‘d like the Bengals, Browns or Steelers, the Reds or Indians, along with the Cavs, Crew, etc. Well that’s a subject I am sure I will tackle down the road. However at this point my “introduction” is already a bit long winded, so if anyone out in readerville really cares feel free to e-mail me and I’ll be sure to respond.

One last tidbit of information I should mention, is that I founded and currently manage a local sports organization called The Association of RASCBall. What is RASCBall you ask?? Well I’ll tell you…..

RASCBall is a 6 on 6 competition played between two opposing teams, with 5 Floor Players and 1 Netminder per side. Action takes place on a full length court similar to that of a hockey rink (minus the ice and skates, but with the surrounding boards). A full game between two opposing teams, consists of two 35 minute halves. Goals are scored by shots thrown, kicked or headed and are scored in increments of 1, 2 or 4 points. Attempts to score goals are setup by various ball movements and blocking techniques (when you try to envision the ball movement, think similarly to basketball and also lacrosse without the sticks). Defense consists of modified basketball rules with limited physical contact. Tripping and excessive holding is NOT allowed, though hand checking and body checking are permitted as long as it pertains to the strategic flow of play.
