Published March 21, 2009 Thoughts on Ohio State's loss to SienaWell, its 2:45 a.m. and I am sitting here typing this because I just watched Ohio State go two overtimes and lose to some school about the size of Mount Union. I couldn't sleep right now if I were Elvis on the toilet. Here's a couple of quick reasons why: We were out rebounded by 17. We were bigger man for man then them yet they were able to out rebound us by 17. We had them beat in the first OT and allowed a wide open three to tie the game and put it into a second OT. Then we have them beat again and allowed the same guy to be wide open from the same spot to beat us with another three. It's been that way all year. We couldn't stop a three if our entire season depended on it, which it did. This team had so much potential before David Lighty was injured. Then it scrapped and fought its way into the big dance only to let it get away in the first round. The good news is that we were probably saved a major embarrassment from happening against Louisville. I bet they have a three point shooter or two. What I will remember about BJ Mullins: nothing. Another one and done that couldn't even work his way into a starting spot. The one thing I will remember about him was him going to the foul line with under a minute in regulation and a four point lead. He makes his foul shots and the game is over. He clunks them both. He can take his money and go sit on an NBA bench somewhere and count it until the cows come home. If you put your hand in a bucket of water and pull it out, the hole that is left is how much I will miss him. Under the circumstances, I guess 22-11 and a trip to the dance is about all we could expect for this year. We had the injuries and the transfers and the lack of a senior on the team and still found a way to have a pretty successful season. With everyone but Mullins coming back next year I expect to win the Big Ten. The Coach

Well stated, Coach. The NCAA needs to be more stringent and get rid of this one-and-done garbage. The NFL has a three-year rule -- and it even held up in court in the Clarett case -- so why not have it in the NBA?
