It is May now. College basketball is over. The NBA and NHL playoffs are going on. As I'm rooting for the Cavaliers to keep doing what they do I start to wonder; how is the Ohio State football team going to do this upcoming season? Is the perception still "can't win the big one"? Since USC is coming here this year, will Ohio State be able to handle their business? Can they please not trip up against Toledo in Cleveland so that we won't have Michigan fans laughing at us? What will be their preseason ranking? Those are just a few questions I have right now about the Ohio State football team for this upcoming season. 

Speaking of preseason rankings, Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports has the Buckeyes ranked 7th in his Post Spring Top 25. Too high? Too low? Too early to even discuss? Some may think that it is too early to even talk about college football and others think that it should be discussed all year around. Which ever you fall into if you walk around the magazine racks at the bookstore or local grocery store you should be finding the preseason college football magazines. If you don't see them now they will be coming soon. I believe I purchased 3 last year around this time. Athlon Sports, Lindy"s Sports and Phil Steele's. I went through each magazine seeing who was ranked where, what team was predicted to win the conferences, or what team was Phil Steele's surprise team. As I think about that last one I believe he had Penn State as a surprise team in 2008 and Ohio State as a surprise team in 2007. I'm a big fan of his magazine.

So tell me where you stand on discussing college football right now? Too early or right on time?
