College Basketball Bubble Watch

Looking at some college basketball teams that could be on the bubble for the NCAA tournament.

By

March happens to be one of my favorite months. Why? Because the craziness that is the NCAA tournament happens. And being that March is almost here, everyone is wondering who will be in and who will be left out. Ohio State seems to be okay right now but their performance this past week did not help their seeding. Oh and that said performance happened to piss me and a lot of fans off. But this is not just about them. Let us take a look at 6 other teams that could be on the bubble or at least standing next to the bubble.

1.  Notre Dame. 14-11, 5-8 in conference play.
Top Key wins: Louisville, Texas

2.  Miami (FL). 15-10, 4-8 in conference play.
Top Key wins: Wake Forest, Kentucky

3.  Tennessee. 16-9, 7-4 in conference play.
Top Key wins: Marquette, Georgetown

4.  Wisconsin. 17-9, 8-6 in conference play.
Top Key Wins: Ohio State, Illinois

5.  Georgetown. 14-10, 5-8 in conference play.
Top Key Wins: Memphis, UCONN

6. Michigan. 17-10, 7-7 in conference play.
Top Key Wins: Duke, UCLA

Now if you take a look at Bracketology on ESPN.com, at this time you will see that Wisconsin is in at a 9 seed, Michigan is a 13 seed (one of the last 4 in), Tennessee is a 7 seed, Georgetown and Miami (FL) are apart of the first 4 out and ND didn't even get a mention on the page. So we can see that there is a lot of work left to be done for these and other teams like Penn State and Cincinnati. And if you didn't know about Cincinnati, they beat Georgetown twice and also beat Notre Dame.

All of this is going to be fun to watch. It will be more fun if the Buckeyes don't collapse down the stretch. And for them, Bracketology has them as an 8 seed playing Utah State in Dayton (yay!). But if they were to get passed Utah State they would face Pittsburgh (not good). But these are just mock brackets. Selection Sunday is weeks away. Get your pencils ready.

One question though: Does Duke deserve a 3 seed?
