A look at the my Big Ten pre-season standings and what they are now.
I'm a happy Buckeye fan today. I'm not really caring about how the Buckeyes won the game yesterday. They won and will most likely be playing in the Rose Bowl on New Years Day. That's all that matters at the moment. And the fact that I was right. With Ohio State winning it's 5th straight Big Ten title, I was correct in picking them to win their 5th straight Big Ten title. But how did with the others? Let's see....
Pre-season Standings:
1. Ohio State
2. Penn State
3. Michigan State
4. Illinois
5. Iowa
6. Wisconsin
7. Michigan
8. Minnesota
9. Northwestern
10. Purdue
11. Indiana
Current Standings:
1. Ohio State
2. Iowa
2. Penn State
2. Wisconsin
5. Michigan State
6. Northwestern
7. Minnesota
8. Purdue
9. Illinois
10. Michigan
11. Indiana
So maybe I overrated a few teams like Michigan State and Illinois. And underrated Iowa and Wisconsin. If Michigan upsets Ohio State this week and Iowa, Penn State and Wisconsin win, there will be a four-way tie for league championship. Yep. I underrated those two. And Michigan State is just well being Michigan State. But for Illinois. That team has a lot of talent but they don't know what to do what that talent. I asked the question when I did the pre-season rankings. Roon Zook can recruit but can he coach? The answer I've gotten from this season is no. No he can not. Do you hear me Illinois?
So tell me. How did you see this season turning out? Did you think the standings would look like they currently do?
