5 Questions After This College Football Weekend

Happy Labor Day everyone! Were we all excited with the college football action we received this weekend? And it's not over. We have UC Bearcats @ Rutgers and the rivalry of the 90s, Miami @ Florida State. But there were some questions for me this weekend that if you have an answer, please share it in the comments:

1. What is wrong with the Buckeye defense? Do you remember the silver bullets? I remember the silver bullets. I miss them. Haven't seen them since Dantonio left at least. I really wish they would show up again. Especially this weekend against USC. It would be rather appreciative.

2. If BYU goes undefeated, what happens then? Yes BYU beat Oklahoma without Heisman trophy winner Sam Bradford playing in the 2nd half but if they can beat Florida State and go undefeated, do they have a shot at the BCS title?

3. Will Notre Dame vs. Michigan be the game of the week? I know USC @ Ohio State is a big deal. A Buckeye win is needed for the state of the Big Ten. But after this past weekends performances by Notre Dame and Michigan, will this upcoming game be a big deal?

4. So what's with Sam Bradford's shoulder? Shoulder sprain graded either 2 or 3? BCS title contention in jeopardy? Big XII championship being handed to Texas? Is Sam Bradford wishing he left for the NFL Draft? Will he be back this year?

5. Will Miami vs. Florida State matter? This game hasn't truly mattered across the nation in quite sometime. Can these programs turn things around to get it away from being miami vs florida state to be MIAMI VS. FLORIDA STATE?

1 - Need two shutdown corners to really play an aggressive defense 2 - BYU won't go to title game even if they end up undefeated. 3 - This game is a lot bigger now than it was at noon last Saturday. Both teams have great chance to take a big step forward. I think Notre Dame will prevail, their defense is much better than Western Michigan's. 4 - Bradford will likely be back in 3-4 weeks, but Sooners can forget BCS title. 5 - Miami - Florida St. game won't matter much until both programs make it back to the top 10.

1- The Defense was sketchy I'm not sure using the "Hell's Bells" intro on third down is appropriate anymore. It's not intimidating anyone. 2- If BYU is only one of two unbeaten teams, I'm not sure the BCS can keep BYU out, because it would be hypocritical to its possibly letting the MWC into the BCS in a few years. Personally, however, I think it's time to dump the Big East out of the BCS equation... they hardly have anything left. 3- Michigan Notre Dame may be a better game than OSU-USC, but it's only because UM and ND are still second-tier teams who are very much on the same level of mediocrity. 4- If Oklahoma can get on the winning track while Bradford's gone, they can get in with some help. His Heisman bid is shot. They'll have to beat Texas, because they probably won't have that godawful Big 12 tiebreaker to save them this time. 5- Certainly not this year.
