BREAKING NEWS (BRIEF): Jackets To Pick… Fourth (So Far)

Well, the moment has arrived. The NHL Draft Lottery has taken place, and with the posssibility that the Jackets could win the lottery and move up to the number one pick, the Jackets have… well, stuck with fourth. Like I said... I’m not losing sleep over it. There was a lot of hype over what would happen this evening… and it was just hype.

It wasn’t too long ago that Doug MacLean traded up a few spots to first overall, and got us Rick Nash. Just ask him… he hasn’t stopped talking about it.

And life went on. It’s not like we were sitting at home with Xerox copies of the 50 or so sets of numbers we picked in a work pool. No… wait. Actually, it’s a lot like that.

Admit it, you’ve done it. I’ve done it, too.

Seriously, though… I doubt the Blue Jackets will suffer at fourth. Fourth is not a bad spot, by any means. A lot can happen between now and then. It wasn’t too long ago that Doug MacLean traded up a few spots to first overall, and got us Rick Nash. Just ask him… he hasn’t stopped talking about everything he did in Columbus. Then again, Doug MacLean says a lot of things lately. And many of them are still offensive in Columbus.

Anyway, the hype continues June 25 and 26, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Stay tuned.
