What's The Cavaliers Plan for Sasha Pavlovic?

Sasha Pavlovic seems like the red-headed stepchild at times. Sometimes he's a starter. Sometimes he's a backup. Sometimes he's an afterthought. Sometimes he's trade bait.

The recent additions of Delonte West, Wally Szczerbiak and Mo Williams are part of the cause, creating a crowded backcourt with Daniel Gibson rounding out the group.

On the depth chart, he is listed behind LeBron James, so that in itself is not an easy designation to carry. But two years ago, he was starting in the NBA finals. Maybe the contract holdout that followed that off season rubbed some folks the wrong way? Injuries plagued most of last season's campaign, and by the time he was back healthy, the team dynamic had changed around him, leaving Pavlovic with few minutes available.

We all know the story, but what is the plan for this guy? This is his fifth season with the club, and it seems that there is no direction for what they see this guy developing into. Sometimes he looks like a valuable scorer and a scrappy defender. Sometimes he seems to fade into the shadows of some of the aforementioned swing players though too.

Regardless, he still has the potential to be a solid NBA player. Just not sure if he is in the long-term plans of this organization.
