Published October 21, 2008 A Serious Sense of Urgency is Needed in Cleveland for the BrownsWith the Monday night win over the Giants seemingly in a past lifetime and this past weeks loss to Washington fresh on the frustrated minds of Browns fans spanning the globe, the question still remains: Where do we go from here? It’s hard to say actually. Brady Quinn is still getting paid to be the backup quarterback that would be able to play when needed. I’m not sure if he is the answer, but it would be nice to find out. Aside from the Monday night game, Derek Anderson – unfortunately – has looked awful. Let's just use the game against Washington as a go to example for why Brady Quinn may be worthy of his first NFL start. Actually, it is indeed quite simple. Anderson missed open receivers throughout the Washington game – which also serves as a sort of microcosmic example of every game this season other than the afore mentioned Giants game – in as many ways as it seems possible to miss a receiver. The frustration is compounded by the fact that the defense has played well, especially considering that they have been on the field for huge stretches during games. The offensive line and Jamal Lewis have picked it up as well. Again, I do not see anywhere else to point the finger as to what can be done to start winning games that should be won. In a sense, Quinn deserves his shot by default, as he still has yet to prove anything. That also serves as another reason to give him a shot, let's let him attempt to prove his worth on this team. Let's see which one of these quarterbacks is the future quarterback for the Browns.
