Super Bowl predictions from the fearless Featured Writers at ColumbusSports.com
Brian White: Although my "football heart" will be rooting for the Cardinals, my "football brain" tells me that the Steelers will win by about 10 points. A few more potential play makers and a lot more big game experience will be the difference. Larry Fitzgerald may get a few catches and even a score, but he won't be the difference maker by himself that the Cardinals need against that Steeler defense. Ben Roethlisberger, as usual, will find a way to make a few big plays leading to touchdowns for Pittsburgh.
Final Score -- Pittsburgh 27 Arizona 17
Dave Herd: Kurt Warner connects with Larry Fitzgerald on a big one early on, and Arizona continues its pattern of building a strong first half and then narrowly avoids disaster in the second half. A Pittsburgh turnover or penalty stops what could be a game tying drive in the fourth quarter.
Final Score -- Arizona 27 Pittsburgh 20
Phil Harrison: I am inclined to pick an upset here since it seems that the recent trend leads to the overwhelming favorite stubbing their toe. At the same time, I think that Pittsburgh has been the more consistent of the two teams throughout the season. There is a lot of talk about Arizona being a team of destiny since they are playing hot right now, but I just can't buy into it. I believe that Pittsburgh has been the more consistent team throughout the course of the season. You kind of know what you are going to get. On the other hand, Arizona has been good and has also been very bad at times. Here's the deal: Arizona will move the ball some on Pittsburgh, but the Steelers defense will come up big just like they have time after time. On the other hand, Pittsburgh will have an efficient mix of Ben Roethlisberger's arm and Willie Parker running the ball. Everyone is talking about Larry Fitzgerald being the best wide out in this game, but look for Santanio Holmes to outshine him on this day. If these two teams were to play 10 times, I think the Steelers would win at least seven. Though any team can win a one game event, you have to go with the fact that the Steelers are the better team. Period.
Final Score -- Pittsburgh 24 Arizona 17
The Coach: Being a Browns fan my hatred of the Steelers is only surpassed by my hatred of the Ravens. But hey, my heart belongs to the cold Midwest. Santonio Holmes pulls in the winning catch.
Final Score -- Pittsburgh 35 - Arizona 31
Dan Falkenberg: I think the Super Bowl is going to be pretty close, but I still feel, even though I'm a Browns fan, the Steelers are too well-rounded for the Cardinals to hang with.
Final Score -- Pittsburgh 24 Arizona 17
Scott Taylor: short and sweet...
Final Score -- Pittsburgh 24 Arizona 16
