Published April 20, 2010 Kennedy's Weekly College Basketball and NBA picks
My picks run from Monday to Sunday per each week. I keep my picks from the last two weeks on here so you can see what I picked and why. Sometimes I will tell you what went wrong on a loss or brag a little on a win. Remember these are for entertainment purposes only. Please leave your comments below with your thoughts on my picks. If any of you would like to have a friendly competition let me know. Ties count as a half point on my winning percentage. If there is a certain game or games you would like me to look at please let me know and I will do my best to put it on here. Just try to give me an enough time to look at it. This is my first time trying basketball so it should be fun to see how I do.

Give the points no matter what they are tonight. (Orl -8.5)
Western Conference Game 1: Series Tied (Lakers 0, Thunder 0) (W) 3:00 Oklahoma at LA on ABC The Lakers are now healthy and ready to go. Oklahoma lacks playoff experience. For the Lakers it is just another day at the office. Lack of experience and home court advantage will play a major rolll in the Lakers win today against Charlotte. (LA -7.5) Game 1: Series Tied (Dallas 0, San Antonio 0) (L) 8:00 San Antonio at Dallas on TNT I love the Spurs tonight on the road to cover. I acually think this series could be trouble for Dallas. San Antonio can play well and what vetter time then now to do that. Take the points and run with the Spurs. (Spurs +4.5) Game 1: Series Tied (Phoenix 0, Portland 0) (L) 10:30 Portland at Phoenix Phoenix could be playing the best basketball right now. They have only lost 5 or 6 ganmes going all the way back to mid February. Portland is an improved team but in all likelehood will have trouble keeping it close today in Phoenix. This is another one of those games that could get ugly. (Pho -7)
April 17, 2010 NBA Playoffs Round 1 Eastern Conference Game1: Series (Cavs 0, Bulls 0) (W) 3:05 Chicago at Cleveland on ABC Cleveland has faced the Bulls in the playoffs five times. The Bulls have won all five series. This year, however the Bull's don't have Jordan. Look for the Cavs to take control early. With Shaq and James getting some rest towards the end of the season they should be ready for this one. Lay the points. (Cavs -10.5) Game 1: Series (Hawks 0, Bucks 0) (W) 5:30 Milwaukee Bucks at Atlanta Hawks on ESPN I love Atlanta at home tonight. They want to make a statement that they are an better team and deserve to be here. Look for the Hawk's backcourt to give the Bucks much trouble. This one could get ugly. (Atl -8.5) Game 1: Series (Boston 0, Heat 0) (L) 8:00 Miami Heat at Boston Celtics on ESPN Miami comes into tonights game with confidence. They went on a tear and finished the regular season out strong. The Celtics are going in the opposite direction and maybe in some trouble at home tonight. The Celtics are getting older and I am not sure how they wil stop Dwayne Wade. It could be an upset tonight so I will take the points and look for an upset. (Mia +5)
Western Conference Game 1: Series (Nuggets 0, Jazz 0) (W) Jazz at Nuggets Neither one of this teams were playing well at the end of the regular season. This one could go either way. Since the Jazz play horrrible on the road, it is a sage play to take the Nuggets in the Pepsi Center. Lay the points. (Den -5)
April 3, 2010 NCAA March Madness Round 5 Final 4 All games on CBS 6:07 (5) Butler vs (5) Michigan State at Indianapolis IN I know Butler is basically playing at home tonight. But I will roll with the Spartains. Izzo is considered by many to be the best there is at the college level, coaching wise. I think he can drum up a plan to beat the Bulldogs and end their great run in the dance. Take the points and go with Izzo (MSU +2) 8:47 (2) West Virgina vs (1) Duke at Indianapolis IN I will go with the team that is more physical than the other. WV is just too much and too strong for Duke tonight. WV tough physical play tonight will ware done Duke towards the end and give the Mountaineers a trip to the Championship game. (WV +2.5) Pro 7:00 Detroit at Atlanta (Det +14) 7:30 New Orleans at New Jersey (NO -2) 8:00 Miami at Minnesota (Mia -5) 8:00 Charlotte at Chicago (Char +4.5)
March 28, 2010 NCAA March Madness Round 4 Elite 8 All games on CBS 2:20 (6) Tennessee vs (5) Michigan State at St. Louis MS (Tenn -1) 5:05 (3) Baylor vs (1) Duke at Houston TX (Duke -4.5) Pro 3:00 Sacramento at Cleveland (Clev -13) 3:00 Memphis at Milwaukee (Mil +4.5) 3:30 Indiana at Atlanta (Ind +8) 6:00 Denver at Orlando (Orl -5.5)
March 27, 2010 (1-3) NCAA March Madness Round 4 (0-2) Elite 8 All games on CBS (L) 4:30 (5) Bultler vs (2) Kansas State at Salt Lake City UT Butler had a huge win vs Syracuse. They have won 23 in a row and are looking for #24. It won't happen tonight. KSU should be able to control the speed of the game and will want to run. Butler just might not be able to keep up. Lay the points tonight. (KSU -3.5) (L) 7:02 (2) West Virginia vs (1) Kentucky at Syracuse NY West Virginia might have been able to give Kentucky a good game if they were at full strength. WV will be in trouble tonight without, Bryant and will be hurting in that guard position. The only thing they can hope for is to get Ken in foul trouble. If Cousins gets in trouble they may have a chance but it looks like Huggin's journey will end tonight. (Ken -4) Pro (1-1) (L) 8:00 Portland at New Orleans (NO +3.5) (W) 10:30 Dallas at Golden State (Dal -4)
March 26, 2010 (4-7) NCAA March Madness Round 3 (2-2) Sweet 16 Games All games on CBS (L) 7:07 (6) Tennessee vs (2) Ohio State at St. Louis MO I like the Buckeyes of Ohio State to take this one and cover. It is a simular match up of what they had vs Georgia Tech in round 2. They hung with the Buckeyes but at the end OSU pulled away. The Bucks may be able to pull away here tonight. Tenn may be the worst team of the 16. So go ahead and lay the points tonight. (OSU -4.5) (W) 7:27 (10) St. Mary's vs (3) Baylor at Houston TX St. Mary's has made a nice run in their first two round games. As we all know, some good things must come to an end. Baylor will end the run of the Gaels tonight. The have a huge difference inside. This one difference is enough to take Baylor. The Gael's Samhan will have trouble with Baylor's three big guys that are 6'10, 7'0 and 6'10. Samhan as well as he has played will get worn out having to work so hard on both ends of the court. Lay ithe points. (Bay -3.5) (L) 9:37 (9) Northern Iowa vs (5) Michigan State at St. Louis MO I am going to stay with the Cinderella story of NIU. What a great story it has been, taking out the #1 overall seed. The Spartins will miss the play of Lucas tonight. He is like their quarterback. And as us Brown's fans know, you can't win many without that. LOL. (NIU PK) (W) 9:57 (4) Purdue vs (1) Duke at St. Louis MO This game, much like the NUI MSU game, comes down health. Duke is plying great. Very impessive first two rounds. To beat a team playng this well, you have to have all your ducks ina row. Well even though Hummel is nat the ugly duckling, he is out and that makes this an easy pick. Duke can hurt you from anywhere. (Duke -8) Pro (2-5) (W 7:00 Minnesota at Orlando (Minn + 15.5) (L) 7:00 Utah at Indiana (Utah -5) (L) 7:00 Denver at Toronto (Den -4.5) (L) 7:00 Washington at Charlotte (Wash +10.5) (L) 8:00 Los Lakers at Oklahoma (Los -1) (L) 8:00 Detroit at New Jersey (Det +1.5) (W) 8:30 Miami at Milwaukee (Miami +5) 8:30 Cleveland at San Antonio (Cle Pk)
March 25, 2010 NCAA March Madness Round 3 Sweet 16 Games (2-2) All games are on CBS (L) 7:07 (5) Butler VS (1) Syracuse at Salt Lake City UT Syracuse will just be too much for Butler tonight. It is a David vs Galiath game. David will lose big tonight . Lay the points. (Cuse -6) (W) 7:27 (11) Washington vs (1) West Virgina at Syracuse NY Lay the points tonight and go with WV. (WV -4) (W) 9:37 (6) Xavier vs (2) Kansas St at Salt Lake City UT I will take the points and X tonight. Xavier matches up very welll against KSU and it could cause them some trouble. (X +5.5) (L) 9:57 (12) Cornell vs (1) Kentucky at Syracuse NY Although I am pretty sure Cinderella will go back yto normal after midnight, Cornell should put up a good fight against Kentucky. The senior leadership of Cornell will help to keep it within the line. Take the points. (Cor +9) March 21, 2010 NCAA March Madness Round 2 (7-1) All games are on CBS (W) 12:10 (8) Gonzaga vs (1) Syracuse at Buffalo NY Gonzaga is a hard team to figure out. They play up/down basketball. Sometimes they look very good and other times you wonder what happened. I think the later will happen today. Syracuse will come out today and make Gozaga wonder what happened. They are just overmatched everywhere today. This one could get ugly. Cuse rolls. (Cuse -6.5) (W) 2:40 (10) Missouri vs (2) West Virgina at Buffalo NY Both teams have played well. I give The Mountaineers should be able to out rebound the Tigers. Also WV is very deep in their front court. These things will help overcome the Tigers great defense. Lay the points. (WV -5.5) (W) 2:30 (5) Michigan State vs (4) Maryland at Spokane WA It is hard to go against Izzo in the tourny. So I won't. Look for the Spartains to get a big W today. (MSU +1) (W) 2:20 (10) Georgia Tech vs (2) Ohio State at Milwaukee WS Ohio State is the new #1 seed in the Midwest, lol. They should take care of business today against Tech. You can see that even when the potential player of the year has a bad game, other players like Deibler come through. I don't see Turner having two in a row. Lay the points. (Osu -6) (W) 2:50 (12) Cornell vs (4) Wisconsin at Jacksonville FL In their first round both teams looked way different. Cornell played well and beat a good team in Temple. Wisconsin, on the other hand, looked like they were lost and almost lost to Wooford. Cornell will actually like the Wis tempo of play and should find some open three pointers. Take the points and look for an upset. (Cor +4.5) (W) 4:50 (6) Xavier vs (3) Pittsburgh at Milwaukee WS Take Xavier from the Atlantic 10 conference today. They want revenge from their last year loss in the tournament against the Panthers. The tides have changed as the Muskiteers have the edge in talent this year and the Big East teams are dropping like flies. Look for X to win this one. (X +1) (L) 5:00 (5) Texas A & M VS (4) Purdue at Spokane WA Purdue will miss Hummel today. There first round matchup was a bit of a struggle but today A & M will get the get W and take out a Big 10 team. (TX -1) (W) 5:15 (8) California vs (1) Duke at Jacksonville FL California is lucky to even be in the dance let alone make it to the 2nd round. Look for coach k and the Blue Devils to take control early and win this by more than the line. Lay the points. (Duke -6) Pro (2-3) (L) 2:30 Oklahoma at Indiana (Ok -4) (W) 6:00 Detroit at Cleveland (Cle -12) (L) 8:00 San Antonio at Atlanta (Atl -3) (L) 9:30 Washington at La Lakers (La -13) (W) 10:30 Portland at Phoenix (Port +6.5)
March 20, 2010 (5-7) College (3-5) NCAA March Madness Round 2 All games are on CBS (L) 1:05 (10) St. Mary's vs (2) Villinova at Providence RI Villinova got the wake up call on Thursday. It said, you can't play that bad again. Villinova will come out and play hard today. They want to prove Thursday was a fluke and will rebound from their poor play. Lay the points today.(Vill - 4) (W) 3:20 (13) Murry State vs (5) Butler at San Jose CA This one says upset all over it. Murry State will give Butler all it wants today and should have a decent chance at a secound round upset to make it two in a row. Jump on the points and watch a great game. (MS +4.5) (L) 3:30 (14) Ohio vs (6) Tennessee at Providence RI Ohio, the big suprise of the tourny so far. Can they suprise us all again? Maybe or maybe not. They should be able to stay with an overated Tenn team. Should be a good game. Take the points. (OH +8.5) (L) 5:40 (9) Northern Iowa vs (1) Kansas at Oklahoma City OK This one, plain and simple, could get ugly fast. Look for Kansas' bench to get some play late today. Easy win for Kansas. Northern Iowa will get rolled today. (Kan -11.5) (L) 5:50 (11) Washington vs (3) New Mexico at San Jose CA Go with Steve Alfred and the Lobo's today. New Mexico is an underdog as a #3 vs #11. The Lobo's have beat some good teams and wil give The Huskies some trouble. Take the points. The Lobo's will probably win this one. (NM +2) (W) 5:45 (11) Old Dominion vs (3) Baylor at New Orleans LA Take Baylor today against ODU. They are the better team and should win this by around ten or more. I love this line. ODU had a great game against Notre Dame. I think they used all they had in that game. May get a little tired today. Baylor will run them wild. (Bay -4.5) (W) 8:10 (7) BYU vs (2) Kansas State at Oklahoma City OK This is another line that is just off. KSU is playing as well as anyone right now, cruching North Texas in the first round. BYU need extra, extra time to beat a questionable tourny team. Many felt Florida was lucky to even make the dance. BYU has a questionable defense and KSU scores often. This is not a good match up for the Cougars of BYU. Lay the points tonight. KSU should win this by double digits. (KSU -4) (L) 8:15 (9) Wake Forest vs (1) Kentucky at New Orleans LA Wake is a good team, very good. They are a dark horse as a #9 seed. This game should be a dandy. Wake will hang with Kentucky. This line is just too large for Kentucky. Wake will keep it closer then 10. Take the points. (Wake + 10) Pro (2-2) (W) 7:00 Chicago at Philidelphia (Chic +4) (W) 7:30 Toronto vs New Jersey Nets (Tor -3) (L) 8:00 Golden State at Memphis (GS +11) (L) 9:00 New Orleans at Utah (NO +11) March 19, 2010 (10-5) College (6-5) NCAA March Madness Round 1 (W) 9:30 Vermont vs Syracuse (Cuse -16) (L) 7:10 Florida State vs Gonzaga (FSU -1) (W) 12:15 Morgan State vs West Virginia (WV -17) (L) 2:35 Missouri vs Clemson (Clem PK) (L) 12:30 Cornell vs Temple (Tem -3.5) (W) 7:25 Ark Pine Bluff vs Duke (Duke -23) (L) 9:45 Louisville vs California (Louis +1) (W) 9:35 Cal Santa Barb vs Ohio State (Osu -16) (W) 7:20 New Mexico State vs Michigan State (NSU +13.5) (W) 9:40 Houston vs Maryland (Mary -9) (L) 2:30 Siena vs Purdue (Siena +4.5) Pro (4-0) (W) 7:00 Oaklahoma State at Toronto (Ok +1.5) (W) 8:30 Boston at Houston (Bos -1) (W) 10:00 Washington at Port (Was +13) (W) 10:00 Milwaukee at Sacramento (Mil -3) March 18, 2010 College NCAA March Madness Round 1 (4-6-1) Sorry I am in a hurry today, all games are on CBS reginal coverage. Tennessee State vs Kentucky (Ken -19.5) (W) 9:35 Wake Forest vs Texas (Wake +5) (L) 2:45 Sam Houston vs Baylor (Bay -12) (L) 12:25 Old Dominion vs Notre Dame (ND -2) (W) 12:20 Florida vs BYU (BYU -3.5) (T) 2:30 Murry State vs Vanderbilt (Van -3) (L) 7:20 Washington Marquette (Mar -1.5) March 16, 2010 (6-2) College (3-1) NCAA Play-In Game (1-0)
(W) 7:30 (Ark Pine Bluff vs Winthrop) at UD Arena in Dayton Ohio TV: ESPN Take the points today and go with Pine Bluff. Ark has played some tough teams this year and will play tough tonight to get a chance to take on Duke. Winthrop only has one scorer in double figures. Ark has leadership with mostly seniors and will take Winthrop to school tonight. (Ark +5) NIT (2-1)
(L) 7:00 Northeastern at Uconn: TV ESPN2 Uconn started to play a little better at the end of the season. This will probably help them in this mismatch. Lay the points and Uconn will win easily. (Uconn -7.5) (W) 8:00 NC State at South Florida: TV ESPNU NC State just might pull off the upset tonight so I have to take the points and run. This will be a close one and will be within the line. (NC +4) (W) 9:00 Texas Tech at Seon Hall: TV ESPN2 This line keeps growing like a weed in the backyard. I like this weed and since it is too early to be pulling weeds, I am going to stay with this one. Even though Tech has struggled as of late they have covered most of the time. This line scares me and that is why I am taking them in this one. Tech might lose but I think it could be a close game to watch and may come down to a few points one way or the other. (Tech +10.5) Pro (3-1) (L) 7:00 Charlotte at Indiana I think there was a mistake on this line from Las Vegas. Charolotte has been hot and just beat Orlando the other night, one of the best teams in the east. Indiana has dropped games lately and will be without Ford tonight. I really don't think that would even make a huge difference. Charlotte is just a way better team right now and should win by 5-10 points. (Char -1) (W) 7:30 San Antionio at Miami I will take the road dog again today. I think San Antionio can go into Miami and give them a loss on their home floor. Take the points and watch for an upset. (San +1.5) (W) 7:30 Cleveland at Detriot: TV Fox Sports Ohio Cleveland had a little more trouble with Detriot last time they met. I don't see it happening again tonight. I make it three in a row with the road dog. Clev will want to open this up and get it in control early to keep Detriot from having a chance late. (Cle -9.5) (W) 7:30 Atlanta at New Jersey Nets Atlanta good, Jersey bad. Any more questions. Atlanta will probably win this by 10 or more so 5.5 is great.(Atl -5.5) March 15, 2010 College Back tomorrow no games today!
Pro (2-1) (L) 8:30 Denver at Houston (Den -2.5) (W) 10:30 New Orleans at La Clippers (NO +3) (W) 10:30 La Lakers at Golden State (GS +8) March 14, 2010 (5-2) Championship Sunday College (2-1) (L) 1:00 ACC Championship: ESPN Georgia Tech vs Duke Look for Duke to come out today and take care of business. They want there to be no question of them being a #1 seed in the dance. They will be focused and are already playing well. Look for this one to get ugly. (Duke -9) (W) 1:00 SEC Championship: ABC Mississippi St vs Kentucky MSU is playing great right now and even though Kentucky will probably win this one, MSU will cover this large spread. Take the points today. (MSU +8) (W) 3:30 Big Ten Championship Minnesota vs Ohio State Don't let yesterdays games fool you. Both games were probably a little "out there". OSU had trouble with Ill and Minn had no trouble with Pur. That is why this line has went way down from were it should be. Minn played the game of their lives yesterday. They can't come out and do that again , and even if they do, it may not be enough against Turner and the Buckeyes. Lay the points today. (Go Bucks -4) Pro (3-1) (L) 1:00 Indiana at Milwaukee: (Min -9) (W) 3:30 Boston at Cleveland: ABC (Clev -6.5) (W) 6:00 Philidelphia at Miami (Mia -6.5) (W) 7:00 Utah at Oklahoma (Okl -1)
March 13, 2010 College (3-1) (W) 1:00 Tennessee vs Kentucky: ABC Kentucky is fighting for a #1 seed in the big dance. They should cover today against the Vols. They also want payback from one of their two losses they have, one from the Vols. (Ken -4) (W) 1:30 Duke vs Miami (Fl): ESPN I like Duke today to win this game, However this line is a litle too big for this match up. Take the points. (Miami +12) (W) 1:40 Illinois vs Ohio State: CBS OSU has shown they know how to beat Ill and will do it again today. This line should be a bit larger. The Bucks should roll today. (OSU -6.5) (L) 4:00 Minnesota vs Purdue: CBS Minn had a gig upset yesterday and are figting for a chance to do it again today. However it looks like their road might end today against Purdue. Lay the points. (Pur -3) Pro (2-1) (L) 7:00 Orlando at Washington Orlando has been hot lately and all things hot must cool off. I think on the road against abetter playing Washington team will make it hard to cover this large spread. (Was +12) (W) 8:00 Denver at Memphis Denver is playing well and beating up on teams. Today the line is a little short as I see another big win on the road for Denver. Lay the points. (Den -2.5) (W) 10:30 Toronto at Golden State Look for Golden State to get a win tonight on their home court. Take the points. (GS +1.5)

They are playing well and should take care of business today trying to end the regular season and prepare for the dance. Lay the points against Miami. (FSU -1.5) (W) 12:00 Texas A & M at Oklahoma: TV (ESPN) A & M will come out today and play hard. They will be trying to improve their Madness Stock and a much weaker and troublesome Oklahoma team will try to stop them. No chance. Oklahoma is off this year and do not have anything to play for. Oklahoma has lost 7 in a row in conference play and today will make it 8. Feel safe in giving the points today. (A & M -3) (W) 12:00 West Virginia at Villanova: TV (ESPN) I think this one will be close, really close. I give WV the slight advantage today. It seems that Villanova has shown a little fatigue towards the end of the regular season. They have seemed to have trouble in some of the big games as of late. This game today fits in the” Big game" category. Take the points and WV could win this one outright. (WV +3) (W) 12:00 Cincinnati at Georgetown: TV (ESPN360) Both of these teams have surprised me this year at different times during this season. But today I would be very surprised if Georgetown does not take care of business on their home court today. Cin gave WV some trouble the other day but then just gave them the W late in the game. I could see George leading this through out and pulling away to cover. (Georg -6.5) (L) 12:00 Northwestern at Indiana: TV (Big 10 Network) Northwestern and Indiana are in much different positions right now. The rolls are reversed this season. Northwestern has improved this season and looks to get their 20th win which may help them into the big dance. 20 wins will help them a lot. Not two long ago they may have not got 20 wins combined in two seasons. This is basically and elimination game for them. With a win in Indiana and one or two in the Big 10 Tourney, the Wildcats could be dancing for the first time in their schools history. If that is not motivation, I don't know what is. Indiana on the other hand is trying to win their 10th game and really can't wait to get this season over with. It won't take a much to figure this one out. Lay the points. (NW -4.5) (W) 1:30 Maryland at Virginia: TV (ESPN360) Maryland is coming off a big win against a potential #1 big dance seed vs. Duke on Wednesday. Look for them to continue a nice run today against a less talented Virginia team. Look for Maryland to take control early and roll today on the road. (Mary -4.5) (W) 2:00 Kansas at Missouri: TV (CBS) Kansas should take care of business today on the road. Lay the points. (Kan -3) (L) 2:00 Syracuse at Louisville: TV (ESPN) This game has upset written all over it. Louisville went on the road and beat Cuse earlier giving them one of only two loses they have had all year. I am going to go against the grain here today. I just don't see them doing it again. They beat them on Valentines Day and Cuse will not be bringing and love this time. Look for Cuse to solidify a great season. Freedom will not ring in Freedom Hall for the Cardinal’s today. (Cuse +1.5) (W) 2:00 Notre Dame at Marquette: TV (ESPN360) This one is a tough one for me. I have showed love and respect to Marq all season. They have been a team that has been off the radar this year but playing well. Notre Dame season seemed to be heading down hill fast like Bode Miller in Vancouver, with the injury to Harangody. However the Irish have been surprising some big teams lately. Just ask teams like Georgetown, Pittsburgh and Uconn if it has affected them. Although Marq may still win this one, the line is just a bit too high for the Irish not to cover. (Irish +8) (W) 2:30 Purdue at Penn State: TV (Big 10 Network) Penn State almost had a big upset against MSU earlier this. Purdue will miss Hummel again today. Penn State should keep it closer than this line today at home. (State +6) (L) 7:00 Seton Hall at Providence After coming so close to a huge upset at Pittsburgh Thursday night. Look for Providence to come home today and show some confidence on their home court. They will be glad to be home and have a good shot to rebound against Seton Hall. (Prov +1.5) (W) 9:00 UNC at Duke: TV (ESPN) 99 times out of 100 this game would mean so much for both of these teams. It is the last week of the regular season. Both teams would be fighting for a #1 seed the madness. It would be great. Well, unfortunately this is that one game out of one hundred. This one might be over before the even tip the ball. NC has struggled all year. Duke is still fighting for a #1 seed in the dance and has everything to play for. They won't take it easy on NC just because they are having an off-season. Did I mention the game is in Cameron Indoor Stadium? Duke big tonight. (Duke -14.5)
Pro (2-1-1) (T) 7:00 Golden State at Charlotte Golden State has been the Rodney Dangerfield of the NBA all season. They get " No Respect, No Respect". This line is just too big. Take all the points, lol. (GS +11) (W) 7:30 Atlanta at Miami These two teams are evenly matched. It could go either way. So I will take the home team today. The Heat is on today in Miami. (Miami -1.5) (W) 8:00 Dallas at Chicago Two big things play into this game tonight in favor of the Mavericks. Chicago is having some health issues as of late and is the main reason they have dropped three straight. Dallas has been playing well against the eastern Conference teams and is just a better team right now. I would be shocked if the can't cover this line as a road dog today. (Dall -1.5) (L) 8:30 Cleveland at Milwaukee: TV (FSN) Cleveland will look to go out on the road today and keep their lead for the #1 Seed in the Eastern Conference over the Magic. The Bucks have had trouble against the Cavs and other quality teams they have played recently. The Cavs seem to have an on/off button. They trailed by double digits against Detroit and came back to win. They did the same thing against Boston. I don't think they will have to come back tonight so they should get an easy win. Take the points. Can they do it again? This game is a little different. First of all it is on the road and it is Georgetown. Georgetown has better talent and ND can't do it again. This line is a little scary but I think ND will get worn down and pull away late. Lay the points. (Geor -11) (W) 12:00 Pittsburgh at St John's: TV (Big East Network) Pitt looked horrible in South Bend on Wednesday night. They want noting more than to come out and blowout someone. Sorry Johnnies but it is a case of being the wrong place at the wrong time. This line is a little off. Lay the points as this might get ugly. (Pitt -2) (L) 12:00 Michigan at Ohio State: TV (ESPN) Ohio State can't afford to let down. They need to win to stay in the race for a Big Ten Championship. Plus the fact that they lost at Michigan earlier will help them keep on fighting. Look for OSU to cover today and keep their dream alive. Purdue losing Hummel ahas opened the door. OSU won't shut it against a much less talented Mich team. Lay the points. (OSU -12) (W) 12:00 Boston College at Georgia Tech BC has been playing well as of late. They put up a 20 spot against Virgina Tech on Wednesday. Even though GT is a good team with some good wins this year I think BC can hang with them on the road today and keep it tighter than this line. Take the points. (BC +8) (L) 12:00 Kentucky at Tennessee: TV (CBS Reginal) Kentucky should have a walk in the park today against a Tenn team that has less talent. Kentucky might win this by double digits. (Ken -2) (W) 1:30 Vanderbilt at Arkansas: TV (SEC TV) Take Vandy today on the road. These two team are heading in different directions. Ark may be looking ahead to next year. Vandy should win this one. (Vandy +1) (L) 2:00 Cincinatti at West Virginia: TV (Big East Network) Cin is just way overmatched today on the road. WV is just a better team and they are at home today. Double trouble for the Bearcats equals a double digit victory for Huggin's old team. He won't let up in this one and WV will win big. (WV -12) (L) 2:00 UNC at Wake Forest: TV (CBS) North Carolina has just fallen apart this year. Wake is going up and should win this one without much trouble. It has taking me this long to stop drinking the UNC juice. But they are just bad. The fact that UNC has nothing to play for today does not help their case. Lay the points. (Wake -7) (L) 4:00 Minnesota at Illinois This game should be a good one. So home court might be the factor at the end of this one. Lay the points. (Ill -2.5) (W) 4:00 Maryland at Virginia Tech: TV (Raycom) This game is basically a pick'em game. I give the slight edge to the road dog today. Maryland is a good team and will play hard today on the road. It will be close. (Mary +1) (L) 4:00 Kansas at Oklahoma St: TV (CBS) Evan though Kan is on the road they are a much better team than OSU. Lay the points. (Kan -5.5) (L) 8:00 San Francisco at Gonzaga Can you say Mismatch. (Gon -17.5) (W) 9:00 Villinova at Syracuse: TV (ESPN) I like the Orange today at home. Cuse can clinch a Big East Championship with a sold out crowd. It will be crazy tonight in the Carrier Dome. Take Cuse with the 6th man fans. (Cuse -6) Pro (1-2) (L) 7:00 New Jersey at Boston Boston has had a day off to rest and fix whatever happened against Clev on Thursday night. Look for them to take it out on Jersey tonight. (Bos -11.5) (L) 7:00 Chicago at Indiana (Chi pk) (W) 10:30 Detriot at Golden State I like Golden State to cover tonight at home. (GS -4) February 24, 2010 (6-8) College (3-7) (W) 6:30 Ohio State at Penn State: TV (Big 10 Network) Osu should cover this line tonight on the road. They are playing well and are still fighting for the Big 10 championship. Penn State is way over-matched and will struggle to score against a good defense. Osu should win by double digits tonight. (OSU -7) (L) 7:00 Pittsburgh at Notre Dame: TV (ESPN2) I would have took Pitt tonight regarless of the hurt knee of Harongody. Pitt is a better team and should win this pick'em game with or without a heathly Harongody. (Pitt Pk) (L) 7:00 Virgina Tech at Boston College Two teams going in opposite directions. VT is playing very well and BC has not done so well lately. VT should win this game so I will take the point and run. (VT +1) (L) 7:00 Florida State at UNC: TV (ESPN) Should be a good game but UNC will have the home court fans in their corner tonight. UNC wins a close game. (UNC +2.5) (L) 7:00 Depaul at Cincinnati: TV (FSN Ohio) This game could get ugly. Cin is fighting for an tourny bid. Depaul is probably going to finish last in the Big East. They are0-9 aton the road and after tonight they wil be a 0-10. Lay the points. (Cin -13.5) (W) 7:30 Marquette at St. John's: (Big East Network) I give Marq the slight edge tonight on the road. They are a very good three point shooting team and that might take out a little of the height advantage St. John's has. Should be a fun game to watch. (Marq -1.5) (L) 8:00 Xavier at St. Louis (X -4.5) (L) 8:00 Memphis at Houston: TV (CSS) (Mem -2) (L) 8:30 Purdue at Minnesota: TV (Big 10 Network) I know this is a road game for Purdue, but are you kidding. They are only giving 2 points to Minn. Lay them. Pur shouuld win by at least 7. (Pur -2) (W) 9:00 Clemson at Maryland: TV (Raycom) This game should be a pick'em at most so take the points tonight. Clemson might get the outright win tonight. February 22, 2010 (3-3) College (0-2) (L) 7:00 West Virginia at Uconn: TV (ESPN) Going with WV tonight on the road. I know Uconn beat Villinova the other day. But, they have had dissapppointing loses at home. Cincinnati came in and won by double figures. WV is a better team and should win this one easily. (WV -1) (L) 9:00 Oklahoma at Kansas: TV (ESPN) Lay the points tonight. Oklahoma is bad really bad. Kansas will win big.
